LOVE, PERFECT CHEMISTRY?
All of us would probably like to be chemists, to be certain that each chemical element is made of precise components, to predict chemical reactions that may result, in short we tend to prefer security instead of uncertainty in life. Trainor understood this, but did not have the courage to face reality, he preferred to avoid love, so unpredictable, and devote to the certainty of chemical formulas. It happens to everyone, as De Andrè says in his song "A chemist", to isolate ourselves at the threshold of rationality, to satisfy that selfish need to look for our personal well-being, avoiding any feeling and at the same time depriving ourselves from great and new experiences. Not always, says Trainor, combinations in life are right, as in the case of Benjamin Pantier, but is it worth sacrificing love? There are things that even science is able to explain, even if it is so precise and accurate. Einstein himself says: "How can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?". What would you choose between a world devoid of emotions but full of certainties, and an uncertain reality full of love?
Trainor the Druggist
Only the chemist can tell,
and not always the chemist,
What will result from compounding
Fluids or solids.
And who can tell
How men and women will interact
On each other, or what children will result?
There were Benjamin Pantier and his wife,
Good in themselves, but evil toward each other;
He oxygen, she hydrogen,
Their son, a devastating fire.
I Trainor, the druggist, a mixer of chemicals,
Killed while making an experiment
