We noticed them at Salone del Mobile in April, at the Spazio Rossana Orlandi, and we met again at Maison & Object. They are Johan Bouman and Pieter Franssens, Dutch art and design collectors and owners of the majestic Chateau de la Resle, who imagined a whole new concept to exhibit their collection. In order to do this they opened the doors at the Chateau, so that guests could visit the exhibition and at the same time enjoy a weekend in the idyllic French countryside. From here came the desire to share the collection with a bigger audience, creating their own brand of design, the result of collaboration with the designer who in the past had designed for the Chateau, invited to create exclusive designs for the new brand. The result is a 360-degree vision that blends passion for art, design, architecture and culture. A brand to be experienced on-site and then taken home. The Dutch origin obviously has led collectors to specialize in typical Dutch design, in spite of the Chateau being in France, composed of elements of tradition, as the Montigny drawer designed by Roderick Vos, but reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Not only furniture but also everyday objects, as in the collection of Limoges porcelain tableware, luxurious but linear, and original projects such as Jeroen Wand, who has reinvented the traditional luggage for a product with an innovative design of suitcase, briefcase and toiletries, all made by the artist in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Objects that tell about a life declined to the pursuit of pleasure for everything, from the environment that surrounds us, to the table, to ourselves.
