Davide Groppi, leading the homonymous company from Piacenza, produces and distributes lamps all over the world since the end of 80′.

Creative independence and passionate, unconventional management have allowed him, over time, develop artesanal projects that resume his “tailoring lighting” idea where simplicity, lightness, fantasy and emotions are essentials. In this way, the light become a great opportunity to seduce and excite, to tell stories and create suggestive atmospheres through projects coming from the heart to the brain, with a continued research and innovation.

The work of Davide Groppi and his very close team, with whom he shares the develop of all ideas, has been awarded many times through publications and premiums, and has gained a place in the international scene thanks to products like the floor lamp ‘Q’, the table lamp ‘Palpebra’, the thiny ‘Sampei’ and the light points ‘Nulla’ that are considered classic in lighting design.

The new lamps collection, presented at Euroluce and Spazio Esperienze during the past Milan Design Week, represents a kind of rebirth, a new way of creating and interpreting light. Davide Groppi has followed his creative intuition, uniting his personal view and the Scandinavian Functionalism. His elegant, modern lighting creations have been put side by side with Northern European furniture and memorabilia from that area. Moving from lamp to lamp becomes a kind of journey to find a common matrix between what lights and what is lit. It is based on design firmly anchored in simplicity, weightlessness, emotion and inventiveness, but it also involves the search for “high quality living” applied to daily life. This is what has made the aesthetics of Northern design so extraordinary. Creating a creative path in which form and function are united by a bond of reciprocity.
