In fashion,as in any creative field, a design that works transcends time rules, without feelingthe need to change. In fact have been forty years since Diane von Furstenbergdesigned her “Wrap Dress”: a model born in a New York where womenreally began to establish new standards of femininity, voted to autonomy, to comfortbut also to sensuality. Now as back then the Wrap Dress remained the same, andis celebrated by the meeting with Konstantin Kakanias, internationally renownedillustrator, born in Greece but transplanted in New York City. In hisillustrations is perceptible the vibrating, frenetic, but also colorful andironic energy of the city, the same features that Kakanias reports in aone-minute video, here on the right. In a cheerful and at the same timesophisticated style, very much in line with DVF, the short movie is about theroutine of a young and glamorous career woman, who finds in her Wrap Dress theperfect garment to wear. A successful union of expressive languages, inspiredby each other, narrating with a clear reference to Diane von Furstenberg, amodern woman with full control of her life: a confidence enhanced and aided byan iconic dress, with a perfect and timeless design.
