This year’s Salone del Mobile showed more than ever how innovation and design inevitably go through the more vital environment of the house, seeking in it plenty of experimentation possibilities: the kitchen. At Eurocucina 2014 Elmar has proposed @home, an interesting system because it puts the kitchen as the hub around which several activities revolve, not only that of cooking. The C + S Architects studio has designed a large table which stimulates conversation, a fire around which you can sit, a greenhouse to grow spices, a shelf to pick up books and valuables objects and an incredible hood-organ with cylindrical modules that magically transforms the smell of food in music. The stove is a unique body leaning on the table in canaletto walnut, shaped like a Venetian forcola. The cupboard is made of steel and ceramics, combining the craftsmanship of decors and lacquering with industrial precision of super-slim shelve. A sceonography in continuous movement: @home elements open, close, disappear, highlighting the possibility to live the kitchen space in different ways.
