Furs, the most creative, the most luxurious, are since always inside Fendi’s DNA. The Roman fashion House decided to show them in the big capitals of Asia, with the project “Un Art Autre”, manifesto of tradition, innovation and exclusivity of Fendi furs made between 1960 and the 2013. The exhibition is divided into three main areas: the first is the Introduction Room, to bring the audience through a multi-sensory tunnel composed of video and a sound installation in the history of Fendi, dipping in it, watching, listening and touching the most precious skins that it had forged. The next step is a focus on artisanal know-how of the maison, thanks to the contribution of digital technologies that are combined with the work of some Fendi craftsmen showing the entire process from sketch to the artistic creation of a material object of worship; on the sides visual trace contributions with interviews, editorials, covers and celebrity wrapped in beautiful furs, each of which is available for the visitor that through the touch screen can delve into what most interests him. Finally we arrive in exhibit space: 26 cilindrical elements here configure the section of a pattern that takes on the formal characteristics of a strong design strongly geometric; the brass and glass showcases create a kaleidoscopic visual effect, surprising the visitor’s perception and exalting the furs they contain. First to Tokyo, then to Beijing and then to Hong Kong, by PhD study Industrial Design, the exhibition makes a skillful merger in which contemporary technology is the means used for a story of man-work, expression of the highest traditional crafts.
