During NYCxDESIGN, in May, WantedDesign is a reference point for the
international design community. It is a 360-degree experience with
innovative installations, memorable products, a pop-up store, workshops
and much more, all at Terminal Store Building, a landmark of Manhattan
in the strategic 11th Avenue. It just opened this year’s Edition, rich
of events and reflections, as “Designing, Making and Transforming”,
“What’s happening Abroad?” and “U.S. Design: What’s Next?”, topics
discussed in the first days. It is at its second edition the Launch Pad,
a group of 16 prototypes of international designers and studios looking
for distribution, including the Italians Andrea Borgogni and Giorgio
Bonaguro. This year’s workshop, launched by the Art Center College of
Design’s Associate Professors of Environmental Design, has as its theme The Future of Paper, challenging the students to propose new interpretations for use in a context of ubiquitous computing. Design Within Reach
will showcase a selection of exclusive products by the Danish designers
of Norm Architects, expression of a construction that eliminate the
superfluous and destined to last over time. From all around the world,
designers, architects and designers will exhibit their latest proposals
to bring together design, commerce, culture, education and entertainment
in one of the coolest weeks of the year …Stay tuned!
