Hedi Slimane is shaking up the house of Saint Laurent since being named creative director in 2012. First he erased the word “Yves,” rinaming the brand “Saint Laurent Paris”, changing the logo designed by Saint Laurent himself in 1966. And now? A new chapter of YSL is written: Slimane announced that he’s moving the headquarters across the Seine to Paris’s Left Bank, where Saint Laurent originally set up shop 1961. Dating back to 1671, the 9,900-square-foot architectural complex has most recently been used by the Ministry of French Armed Forces. Restoration works, overseen by Saint Laurent’s artistic director Hedi Slimane, are slated to be complete by 2018.
