Utopia&Utility, brand founded in 2012 by the siblings Wüstenberg, made us discover their handmade and unique decoration elements at Interieur Expo. Their designs, a reminder of Ettore Sottsass for those who knew his coloured glass collection, are the combination of different materials such as glass, wood, stone, metal, ceramic and paper. Pia Wüstenberg, the creative one between the two siblings, combined contemporary design ideas with traditional craft skills with one purpose: “our motivation is to enrich life through beauty”. Her “Africa Collection” and “Stalking Vessel India” collection were the result of travelling adventures. Those experiences gave her different inspirations to put into practice with her way of working. Utopia&Utility proposed, besides the different decoration elements, the prototype of a table, made of coloured glass and wood. This last product has still to be improved, considering the long drying process of the wood that last 6 months. In fact, the goal of the Wüstenberg siblings is to become better and to improve for the development of their little niche production.
