Showroom Finland is a Finnish company, based in Helsinki, with a product portfolio consisting of intelligent design. Pure functional Scandinavian design and quality, made in Finland.

In Finland, forests provide the country with sustainable resources to produce plywood and cardboard products. Here both design talent and industry have developed into top professionals when it comes to woodworking. Manufacturing and designing mainly on home soil, Showroom Finland refines this expertise to create classics of tomorrow.

In 2001, Tuula and Leena started the company after having gained a long and thorough experience in various Finnish design companies. As long-term colleagues and friends, they shared a common vision of contemporary Finnish design philosophy as well as a view of an open and direct communication in business. The first products in Showroom Finland’s collection were plywood bowls, which were awarded the DESIGN PLUS in Frankfurt in 2003. In the following years, Showroom Finland was nominated for the same award for three more products. GOOD DESIGN and GOOD GREEN DESIGN (Chicago), as well as ECO DESIGN (Helsinki), are among the several design awards granted for the Showroom Finland’s products.

PILKE, HAVAS and HIILI LIGHTS are three models of lamps designed by Tuukka Halonen, a Finnish designer with an international background. The cooperation between Tuukka and Showroom Finland started upon his moving back to Finland after studying at the Royal College of Art in London and working several years for Habitat and Tom Dixon’s Design Office.

PILKE is a unique, geometrically decorative light, intelligent and sustainable. The production of the lamps takes place in Finland; the first lamps came out in 2010. PILKE plywood lamp family now consists of six pendant lamps in three colour options: natural birch, white and black stain. Also available are solutions for table, floor and ceiling lighting; soon also for the wall. The PILKE lights are assembled of numerous plywood parts without glue or screws in a way which brings together traditional Finnish handicrafts technique and ultra modern computer geometry. The Pilke collection received a GREEN GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2016.

HAVAS is a do-it-yourself lamp and comes in a flat box with assembly instructions.  Also, a youtube video is available. The plywood lamp constructs itself of tens of birch plywood slats, which will be joint together to form an intelligent structure. Available in three sizes all in natural birch. No surface treatment, no glue and no metal parts are needed. The sustainable Havas collection received a GREEN GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2016.

HIILI is a foam lamp made of innovative, fire-retardant technical foam. Because of its’ light weight and small size, it is well suitable both bar, cafe, restaurant and domestic environments. Now available in two sizes, in black foam with black fabric cord.

RISTIKKO is a sculpture-like, minimalistic birch plywood lamp, suitable for both contract and domestic use. It is a start of a new collection of architectural lights for Showroom Finland designed by Harri Koskinen, one of the best known Finnish designers, having received several awards, like Compasso d’Oro in 2004, Pro Finlandia in 2007, Kaj Franck design award in 2014. Available in three sizes, Ristikko received a GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2016.
