From Kensington Gardens in London, an explosion of graphics for Burberry. The brilliant designs are those inspired by the fairytales, but unexpectedly pop, of old books covers: “The Birds and The Bees” is the name of a collection inspired by maxi prints of butterflies and bees drawn by hand, the same we saw on the runway and on the transparent coverage of the show. Vivid colors are those with which Burberry affirms a present out of the chorus, contrasting to the expanses of black of other trends for the summer season, imagining a world in technicolor in which company codes are tight, but interpreted in a completely innovative way. The typical trench is then crossed by almost psychedelic designs, and the collection’s graphics are perfectly matched to the accessories, real cult of the parade: here Christopher Bailey gave the best of himself, combining, when present, the iconic check to a patchwork of primary colors, for ladylike bags revealing an artistic spirit, the same one shouted by prints on linen overcoats. In the summerish but heavily urban connotation that the collection takes on the shoe belongs to the world of sportswear, declined in a sneaker or a hiking outdoor sandal. Young but above all in connection with the contemporary, Burberry continues to offer an all-round creativity, where fashion is supported by musical talent, this time James Bay’s, English songwriter and musician of Burberry Acoustic who played live the soundtrack of the show, while always stronger is the digital innovation: from the purchase with a tweet to the partnership with Youtube to discussions on WeChat, Burberry involves all users to the enjoyment of the fashion show.
