Cos\u00ec Tokujin Yoshioka ha descritto il suo progetto per il nuovo flagship store Issey Miyake di Londra, al 10 di Brook Street, inaugurato sabato 11 ottobre. Il quartiere \u00e8 quello sofisticato e tradizionale di Mayfair, ma lo spazio, precedentemente occupato da una banca, \u00e8 stato riportato alla sua struttura originale per poi plasmarla e trasformarla con elementi innovativi che parlano di un futuro quanto mai prossimo. Il colore dominante, abbinato al cemento grezzo e al sapore industriale dello store, \u00e8 il blu: viene proposto su alluminio anodizzato, frutto di una lavorazione manuale complicata e accurata. Il risultato finale trasmette la freddezza futuristica del metallo ma che, in netto contrasto con la struttura delle pareti nude, crea un dialogo tra opposti che stupisce il visitatore e crea quelli che Yoshioka definisce \u201cframmenti di memoria sparsi nello spazio\u201d. Incontro tra storia e futuro, tradizione e innovazione, espresso anche negli arredi, come la speciale seduta <i>Brook Ottoman<\/i> disegnata appositamente per il nuovo negozio e prodotta da Moroso.
