Il V&#038;A Museum presenta Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty a Londra, la prima e pi\u00f9 grande retrospettiva in Europa del lavoro del defunto stilista. Punto di partenza la sua collezione di laurea del 1992, sino ad arrivare alla collezione incompiuta A\/I 2010, i modelli di McQueen saranno presentati con la messa in scena drammatica e il senso dello spettacolo, sinonimo delle sue sfilate di ogni tempo. La versione originale di Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty era andata in scena presso il Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York nel 2011 (organizzata dal Costume Institute) era divenne una delle migliori 10 mostre del museo in termini di visite. Ora \u00e8 la volta di Londra, l&#8217;epicentro del mondo di McQueen. Figlio di un tassista, era cresciuto nell&#8217;East End della citt\u00e0. Ha lasciato la scuola a 15 anni per diventare un apprendista sarto su Savile Row in Mayfair. Nel 1990 entra a far parte del prestigioso corso MA Fashion alla Central Saint Martins. Gi\u00e0 un sarto altamente competente e ricchissimo di inventiva, qui ha imparato a essere uno stilista, traendo ispirazione dalla storia di Londra, i suoi musei di fama mondiale e l&#8217;emergente scena &#8216;Brit Art&#8217;. Ha ricordato, &#8216;C&#8217;era tanta repressione a Londra in fatto di moda.
