Nel paese che di solito rimanda alla carta come materiale per eccellenza, anche la pelle costituisce un settore produttivo importante. Una delle sue qualit\u00e0 fondamentali \u00e8 il graduale cambiamento che subisce dopo anni di uso, che non vuol dire una riduzione di pregio, bens\u00ec guadagno in carattere. I creativi di Nendo, uno degli studi di design pi\u00f9 famosi del Giappone, si sono lasciati ispirare da questa caratteristica e hanno pensato di sfruttarla attraverso l\u2019uso di olio abbronzante o crema solare protettiva per ottenere un pattern invisibile sulla superficie della pelle che riveste cinque tipi di oggetti diversi: cartelline, copertine di libri, porta carte, contenitori e sgabelli. Al momento dell\u2019acquisto la pelle ha un aspetto liscio, ma con l\u2019uso e l\u2019esposizione al sole il pattern gradualmente apparir\u00e0, per poi di nuovo scomparire. L\u2019intento \u00e8 quello di creare un prodotto che enfatizzasse la bellezza della pelle quando \u00e8 usata ma anche che creasse sorpresa e affezione nell\u2019utilizzatore.
