‘Always commissioned and tailored to each client, Amedialuz’s luminous sculptures are pieces between art, design and craft that give identity to hotels, restaurants, cultural spaces, but also events and residential projects

At Interihotel Barcelona 2025, in the CRAFT LAB section —where curator Tachy Mora explored how new experimental and hybrid manifestations of contemporary craftsmanship can integrate into hotel or restaurant design— we discovered the work of Spanish artist and designer Natalia Gaminde. With her brand Amedialuz, co-founded with Héctor Herrera, she captivates with luminous sculptures handmade from elements of nature.

The piece “Armonía” shone: leaves and plant fibres transform into suspended lampshades that pulse with soft, almost breathing light. More than illumination, the work reveals: it casts shadows that evoke calm, nature, and a deep sense of belonging.

Living and working surrounded by beautiful Catalan countryside, her work is inspired by nature, its rhythms, and organic roots, exploring light as a poetic and transformative material. Her light sculptures go beyond functionality to create immersive experiences, such as the one at Palau Dalmases in Barcelona.

Natalia Gaminde’s luminous sculptures explore the boundary between object and organism. They are sources of organic light that integrate with their surroundings and blend seamlessly with spaces, creating natural and unique environments.

Tree leaves and flower petals shape handcrafted creations made to order that bring soul to spaces, transforming them into landscapes of light that connect us and return us to the essential. Natalia explores light as a material capable of evoking emotion and transformation, gradually developing her own language in contemporary light art, offering always more than design: illumination that is not just seen, but felt.

Amedialuz projects a unique artistic language, exploring light as an expressive medium and as a driver for transforming space. Its creations range from delicate lighting fixtures designed for the intimacy of a home to large-scale pieces that interact with architecture and enhance the character of the space.

Each creation combines iron and natural fibres in forms that play with movement, shadow, and texture, evoking a natural environment. In addition to site-specific installations, Amedialuz offers a collection of unique lamps, each one different from the others, handcrafted with organic materials and only LED bulbs. All models are available in four formats: pendant lamps (ceiling), floor lamps, table lamps, and wall sconces.

Amedialuz works internationally, collaborating closely with architects, interior designers, decorators, and private clients, to offer unique solutions that make each project a work with its own identity. Always commissioned and tailored to each client, these are pieces between art, design and craft for hotels, restaurants, cultural spaces, but also events and residential projects.
