It might seem unreal but screws and bolts have not always been here, and yet they are with us in our everyday life. If we think about it they are one of the most long-lived and successful inventions of our times. They have been with us in so many different uses that we do not appreciate them as a beautiful object but only as a functional one.From his imaginary laboratory, as he himself defines it, Tana Design the Italian designer Gae Avitabile says: “I have always looked at them with fascination and I have been searching for a different point of view at them since this can sometimes turn down the real function and meaning of an object.”Form this idea DADO was born, a bright trial of a beautiful object that is always hidden.Gae Avitabile’s next exhibition will be in Galerie VIA, Paris from 6 to 12 September 2018.
