The international performance art festival will celebrate its fifth edition in Ibiza from September 22 to 28 with a reflection on victory. Open call for Balearic artists now available After a year-long pause, the International Performance Art Festival of Ibiza, Territori, returns to the island from September 22 to 28, 2025. As a starting point, the festival proposes a reflection on victory, understood not as a closed theme, but as an open idea that each artist can approach through their own language. As a new feature, this year the festival will launch a participatory proposal for the public via social media, inviting people to reflect and create around the theme of the edition. Since its inception in 2020, Territori has created a unique context for contemporary action art, welcoming local and international artists and positioning the island as a crossroads for situated artistic reflection. In its most recent edition, the global impact of the festival—between participants and audience—surpassed 6,000 people across 27 activities over 10 days. Today, it has established itself as one of the leading performance art festivals in Europe. We continue to believe in art as a space of thought, affection, and collective action,” says Isa Sanz, founder and artistic director of Territori. The festival will take place in urban, natural, cultural, and exhibition spaces, creating a seven-day immersive experience through a carefully curated program of performances, artist residencies, professional sessions, and other educational activities such as mentorships, talks, meetings, and workshops. This is the only open call organized by the festival, aiming to promote performance creation from a local context, highlighting the diverse voices of the island territory. The call will select proposals from the four main islands of the Balearic archipelago—Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, and Menorca—to encourage exchange and recognise the plurality of perspectives that inhabit this territory. Since its beginnings, Territori has sought to facilitate this kind of transition, encouraging new perspectives and situated languages. For those selected who are engaging with performance art for the first time, the festival offers specific curatorial support for the development of their proposals. Selected proposals will become part of the Territori 2025 program, to be held from September 22 to 28 in natural, urban, and gallery spaces across the island of Ibiza, generating a unique context for contemporary performance. The open call will remain open until June 22, 2025.The full guidelines can be found at: www.territorifestival.com/open-call-2025 Territori 2022, Priscila Rezende, photo Anita de Austria The Program Each year, Territori includes various educational and professional activities in its program, such as individual mentorships, workshops, talks, sessions, and masterclasses, that help strengthen knowledge around contemporary action art, build community, create networks, and increase the visibility of performance practice both locally and internationally.
