Lagranja launches a five-month program aimed at designers, artists, and creatives—a firm commitment to emerging design. Open Call open until June 15, 2025

After nearly 25 years developing interior design and industrial design projects, Lagranja Design presents Open Design Editions, a five-month program targeting emerging designers, artists, and creatives who wish to develop and produce pieces (in the field of product design) with the support of a professional team and business network.

With this initiative, the studio opens its doors and transforms its showroom into an active production space for ideas with potential. Open Design Editions is not a residency nor an incubator: it is a tangible edition of objects created through collaboration, mentorship, and experimentation, backed by the technical support of Lagranja and its network of partners.

Authorship of each piece belongs entirely to its designer. Lagranja merely facilitates the journey from idea to market by offering its resources, experience, and connections in service of the project.

“We believe that sharing our know-how is no longer just an option, but a responsibility. This is the natural next step for us as a studio,” say Gabriele Schiavon and Gerard Sanmartí, creative directors and co-founders of Lagranja Design.

The program is open to proposals in three categories: lighting, auxiliary furniture, and accessories—from lamps and tables to decorative objects. All pieces must stand out for their originality and technical feasibility.

Up to 10 projects may be selected per edition, and their creators will receive:

→ Personalised mentorships with industry experts
→ Technical and editorial support for prototype development
→ Access to resources, collaborators, and contacts within the studio
→ Final exhibition within the official program of Barcelona Design Week 2025
→ Possibility to integrate their pieces into real Lagranja projects (if the author wishes)
→ Guaranteed production of the selected designs
→ 100% ownership of authorship rights and royalties

Open Design Editions 2025 Jury

The jury for this edition is composed of leading professionals from the design field, with diverse backgrounds ranging from artistic creation to editorial direction. Their mission will be to select the projects with the most potential to become real objects. Each jury member brings a complementary perspective to spot talent, evaluate proposals, and support their development from a critical and constructive viewpoint.

Public Sessions

As part of the program, Open Design Editions will host a series of sessions open to the public. These Talks will address key themes around design, creation, production, and project management, offering a practical and strategic outlook on the sector. Designers, creators, and companies will share real experiences, challenges, and insights related to product design and editing. These sessions will be an opportunity to connect informally with the creative community and spark new conversations around design.
