The innovative design and highly refined style of Franke‘s Icon tap have been awarded by the jury of the IF Design Award 2021, an acknowledgment conferred every year – since 1953 – by the international organization IF International Forum Design, which for this edition has registered almost 10,000 nominations divided into 9 categories and coming from 52 countries.

An extremely important seal of quality which, together with the Red Dot Design Award 2021 in the Kitchen Taps and Sinks category, represents the most prestigious and coveted product design award in the world. Every year, the independent jury of the IF Design Award identifies and rewards products with exceptional, reliable design and high functional content, capable of simplifying the work and daily life of consumers.

Icon, with its original and decidedly modern interpretation of the tap’s aesthetics, in perfect balance between sinuous lines inspired by nature and maximum practicality, convinced the 98 experts called upon to judge the products nominated this year, winning a final score of 318 points obtained on the basis of the evaluation of five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation, and impact.

Designed to become a true icon, this tap is available in two versions (with a swivel double-jet hand shower or swivel spout) and three exclusive finishing (Chrome, Decor Steel, and Matte Black) to meet all style and usage requirements.

A unique faucet, whose appeal is dictated by the constant search for symmetry in the proportions that shape its silhouette: the configuration with the swivel hand shower is distinguished by the side lever that further enhances its ergonomics; the version with the swivel spout, on the other hand, takes on an even more avant-garde aesthetic thanks to the front lever marked by black accents that allow the flow of water to be activated even with busy or dirty hands. The laminar aerator which both versions are equipped with also guarantees a clearer jet to reduce splashing and, at the same time, limescale creation.

Thanks to this recognition, Franke also secures a prominent position both locally and internationally in the IF World Design Index, being included in the IF Top 10 Switzerland and the IF Top 100 Europe, labels awarded to the most successful designers, design teams and companies that have distinguished themselves by winning an IF Design Award in the last five years and thus underlining their leadership position (Franke won the IF Design Award again in 2020 with the Mythos bowls, in 2019 with the Box Center sink, in 2018 with the Crystal collection of mixers and in 2017 with the Fragranite Style and Frames by Franke sinks, with the Maris hood and with the Pescara range of mixers, which was awarded the special IF Gold Design Award).

Further confirmation of the company authority and know-how in the kitchen sector, but also the umpteenth affirmation of the company’s DNA aimed at excellence. For over 100 years the company has stood out for its ability to offer the market innovative and avant-garde solutions in terms of functionality and technological content, always with an eye to aesthetics and design, studied in every detail.
