The fashion industry has long needed significant change — not just a radical new trend, but a full-throttle disruption.

In recent months, the global health crisis has cast a spotlight on this need for a fresh strategy. A strategy to save the hand-made manufacturing delivered by independent designers, to save the consumer’s pocketbook, to save the health of our planet, and to save fashion.

The mission of Not Just A Label is discovering and supporting pioneers in contemporary fashion. Today 40.000 NJAL independent designers will be launching a community-driven campaign to redefine how retail works.

Over the coming days, we will be revealing our solution to fashion’s outdated system. We are the future to fashion design, to commerce, to trade shows, to fashion weeks, to unsustainable practices. We are the future of fashion.” says Not Just A Label founder Stefan Siegel.

IED Barcelona’s first virtual fashion show took place on July the 15th. This virtual event, in collaboration with Not Just a Label, will be exclusively broadcast via IED Barcelona Youtube channel. Students from the Undergraduate Degree in Fashion Design, the Itinerary in Styling and Fashion Communication and the BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, will present the final collections.

Like every year, the award Franca Sozzani will be presented to the Best Fashion Collection, and for the first time, the Best Accessories Collection will also receive recognition.

This year’s edition counts on a prestigious international jury made up of the renowned Fashion Designer, Christian Lacroix; the Global Creative Director of MAC Cosmetics, Drew Elliot; the Talents and Sustainability Editor for Vogue Italy, Elisa Pervinca Bellini; and the Not Just A Label Founder, Stefan Siegel.
