These are the days of Salone Nautico di Geonva, the most important event of the Mediterranean Sea dedicated to the sea and to advances and innovations in the nautical world. This year the event has a broader spectrum, devoting itself to the visitor and his passion for the sea with a series of events where the protagonist is surely the design, the key element that makes the Italian nautical industry different than the rest of the world. In this context, the terrace of Pavilion B is decked out with the design of the most significant names on the international scene. Totem, tables, stools, chairs and bookcases from the pencils of Branzi, Thun, Saldler, De Lucchi, Cibic, Meri Mendini and many others, are the objects made completely of wood, that Riva1920 decided to show and put at the disposal of visitors. A complete overview of the evolution of design in the field of wood, but overall stylistic appearance with which the excellence and innovation take shape. Next to them the table in Kauri, New Zealand’s millennial wood, twelve meters long, designed by Renzo and Matteo Piano for the project “Ground Zero …Ground Heroes”, created with the aim of helping the families of the victims of 11 September 2001. An interactive overview where two worlds who speak about excellent Made in Italy, the one of design and the one of nautical industry, dialogue and find inspiration in each other.
