Among the 27 winning works awarded “Gold” at the 27th ADCE Awards organized by Art Directors Club of Europe at Disseny Hub, Barcelona in November 2018, in Graphic Design category the winner was “Hornbach Werkstück Edition 001” by German Heimat Berlin. The Werkstück 001 Lounge Chair was designed by Danish designer Sigurd Larsen for do-it-yourself superstore chain Hornbach. He created a design it-piece that cannot simply be bought. Instead, it can only be built. From scratch. With nothing but your bare hands. Reaching peak exclusivity, the chair made strictly of materials out of Hornbach’s vast product range is a tribute to their customers own capability, realized through the dedication of true DYI-ers.
