In Seoul has just opened the new Givenchy flagship store: the impressive building, located in the fashion district of Gangnam Gu, bears the signature of the Italian study Piuarch. It is 400 square metres divided into 4 floors with geometric graphics structure, whose hyper minimalist Interior reflects the themes of the brand and its concepts, enhancing the products on sale. A very clear stylistic imprint stated by the special façade, designed as a kind of wrapping that resembles a three-dimensional skin: inspiration is the characteristic “T”cut, sartorial trademark of Givenchy. Electropolished steel slabs of which the facade is composed have a changing effect that transforms depending on the light and opening at the top, citing the “T” cut with a brushed brass detail. Is the result of a creative meeting between Riccardo Tisci, Creative Director of the maison, and the Milan architecture firm, which together have decided to relocate on an urban and sculptural scale the nature of a sartorial process. Came out unexpected effects of light and movement, which during the day make the building a space for continuous changing. The reference, as well as in Givenchy’s continuous material research, is also on the italian art of the years ‘ 60, by Lucio Fontana and Enrico Castellani, as well as in Tisci’s work often referred to artistic movements.
