On 24 August 2016 at 3.36 am at night, Middle Italy has lived one ofthe most violent earthquakes in its history. A magnitude 6.0 shake hasdestroyed many inhabited centers and has killed hundreds of people. Amatricewas one of the most affected cities. Not everybody knows that Amatrice hasgiven its name to one of the most famous Italian dishes, namely, Spaghettiall’Amatriciana. Even though the recipe is recognized world wide, it’s indanger of losing its roots now.

It is for this reason that the The Cutting Board For Amatrice was created. A nonprofit project designed by two roman creative,Daniele Baglioni and Diego Savalli, and sponsored by the Municipality ofAmatrice. A circular birch-wood Cutting Board with the right quantity of eachingredient inscribed on top, to enable you to cook an authentic Spaghettiall’Amatriciana recipe. This object is a longterm project to see the rebirth ofAmatrice.

The project was officially presented on June 15, 2017 with an event atthe European Institute of Design in Rome.
